Welcome to Southside Middle School, home of the Panthers!

Southside has a rich tradition of excellence, both in the classroom and in the athletic arenas.  We are known to relentlessly pursue excellence and continuous growth as both students and education professionals. We believe that education is a lifelong process, something that should never cease. Our motto is “Be relentless in your pursuit of education.” 

Southside is also a place where students are encouraged to push themselves to overcome, persevere, and achieve on all levels. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to this pursuit. Collectively, we will work diligently to improve our overall attendance and our academic performance (Math and English/Language Arts).

Outside of the four core classes that consist of ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science, Southside offers many other classes to spark students’ interests. They can be a part of championship band or robotics programs, a successful choir program, or various art courses that will help them discover their creative interests.

Our Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses provide fantastic learning opportunities for students interested in careers in design, technology, and other fields – jobs that may not even exist today! In addition, we now offer Panther TV, a media class that allows students to create and distribute visual content for the entire Panther community.

We offer something for every student as Southside, during and after school. Some of our outstanding extracurricular activities include drama club, art club, game club, e-sports, robotics, and several athletic programs. Research proves that students who are involved in activities and the “life of the school” perform better academically and are more socially and mentally healthy, so we encourage everyone to get involved somewhere.
