Drop-Off and Pick-up

Southside Middle School Safety Drop-Off and Pick-up Parents Drop-off and Pick-up

Parents will enter the parking lot on the westside of the property by the football field. Parents will form a single file line along the sidewalk to drop off. Parents will then continue straight to exit out of the parking lot. If parents are coming into the building and need to park, they should park in the west parking lot or speak to the officer on duty in the parking lot.  Students will walk up the sidewalk and enter through door 1 and go into the cafeteria.

MITS Buses

School buses will enter the parking lot through the far east entrance (corner of Macedonia and 26th Street) and will drop off along the sidewalk in front of the auxiliary gym. Students will walk up the sidewalk and enter through door 1 and go into the cafeteria.

Special Education Students

The front drive on the north side of the building will be reserved for special education students (must have a permit). Parking will be reserved for office staff only.

Rain or Snow

Students will follow normal procedures into the building UNLESS a weather related concern arises (sidewalks too hazardous to be on). In such an event, students who are getting dropped off by parents will enter through door 14 (west side door). Students who ride the school bus will enter through door 3 (Auditorium).

Times

Doors will be unlocked at 8:30AM. Release from the cafeteria at 8:53AM. Tardy bell will ring at 9:00AM. Speeding will not be tolerated on school property and may result in a ticket being issued by an officer and being banned from traveling on the property.
